More Than Just an Ordinary Guy

More than Just an Ordinary Guy-
By Bongani Shaun Buti

A young business from Katlehong, Johannesburg Tebello mostsoane the founder of Showlove events (highly praised as the largest running all hip hops Events Company in South Africa) also part of the head Honcho gurus.
A very inspiring person, he uses social media as his podium to talk sense, business and motivate the youth in making it in business.
I have been following him for quite some time on twitter, must say he has really inspired me. Reading his twits is like reading an encyclopedia. He inspires me and other many people out there and on social networks, now imagine how influential is he on the people around him on a daily basis, I got a chance to interview him,  to find out a little bit more of his success story and what’s his take on the current level of South African music.

1.    Tell us a bit about your success story, where did it all start?(Bongani Shaun Buti)

Well I do not consider myself successful yet, I consider myself progressive and I'm happy with the progress. It started years ago throwing random parties, I decided to make hip-hop my niche and grow within that space... Wasn't easy. (Tebello motsoane)

2.    What is your take on South African Music, do you think we are there yet? (Bongani Shaun Buti)

There? We seem to always compare ourselves to America so I'm assuming that's what you mean. We are here; we need to stop comparing and just focus. We need to focus on quality music and great deals... Our musicians need to eat from their talent.
I'm happy with the progress this year within hip-hop, we have become difficult to ignore and more cats are eating. Fans need to play their part and actually support.
(Tebello Mostsoane)

3.    What is it that you would love to achieve in the next 5years and what do you think you have to do to achieve it?
 (Bongani Shaun Buti)

In five years I want my businesses to be dominant in Africa and have a few footprints in other terrains. In order to achieve, we must remain consistent, innovative, watch costs and be bold enough to take the odd risk. The game has to be kept on its toes.

In order to reach the five year plan, one has to achieve the six month and twelve month plans...  Baby steps. (Tebello Mostsoane)

4.    Typical day in the life of Tebello?

Calls, emails, blogging, meetings, arguments, laughs, food, gym, music and moments of silence. I spend a lot of time alone, that's when I study people... That's still the best research; I see the trends, colours, fashion, hairstyles and slang. I have to balance the streets and the lab. .(Tebello motsoane)

5.    What other endeavors are you currently involved in besides Headhoncho,Showlove Music,ShowLove Events and Vth  Season?

Well it wouldn't be smart of me to put it out until it's well in motion... I would rather show you the work than speak about the plan. I will say that my passions have always been music, fashion, sports and the media and someday I will be involved in all of them.
I will find the perfect synergy for them. .(Tebello motsoane)

6.    Is what you currently doing right now the thing you always wanted to do? (Bongani Shaun Buti)

Well I wanted to be an NBA ball player who also rapped...
So no. What I'm doing is what has sat in my head for a very long time though... It's what I love and it takes care of me. .(Tebello motsoane)

7.    Advise to the Young hustler who aspires to be like you? ?(Bongani Shaun Buti)

My advice is don't aspire to be me... Aspire to be better. Let's challenge each other and push each other towards success.

Plan your work, keep an efficient and motivated team, lead by example, give them the glory and protect them when things go wrong... That's what leaders do.

Get everything in writing, be organized, be brave and never give up. (Tebello motsoane)
